  • Our location is 32-34 Ware Street, Fairfield NSW 2165.

    We are a 2-5 minute walk from Fairfield Station and the Fairfield Station bus interchange.

    PARKING

    Unfortunately the clinic is unable to offer parking directly onsite, however Council offers 3 hour free parking close by on Downey Lane. Spots are limited.

  • Please seek urgent medical attention or contact our clinic immediately for an urgent appointment if you experience:

    • Sudden loss or significant decrease in vision

    • A shadow, curtain, or dark area in your field of vision

    • New flashes of light or a sudden increase in floaters

    • Eye pain, especially if associated with redness or reduced vision

    • Sudden distortion or blurring of central vision

    • Injury or trauma to the eye

    These symptoms may indicate a serious eye condition requiring prompt assessment to protect your vision.

    If you are unsure, it is always safest to have your eyes checked as soon as possible.

    1. Health fund/Medicare Card/DVA card​​

    2. Referral from GP, Medical Specialist or Optometrist

    3. Previous prescriptions, current spectacles, contact lenses or lens case

    4. List of current medications

    5. A support person to drive following your consultation. Patients routinely have pupils dilated during consults. This can result in blurry vision; and can impact driving ability.

  • To qualify for Medicare rebate/s for VisionCare Specialist services, a current referral is required.

    VisionCare accepts referrals from GP’s and Optometrists within the last 12 months and referrals from a specialist within the last 3 months.

    Please contact your GP, Optometrist or referring Specialist for more information.

  • Pre Consult

    Our Orthoptist will conduct preliminary tests before your consultation with your Specialist.

    Some preliminary tests can involve additional charges. Please ask our friendly team if you are unsure.

    Following preliminary testing, patients will return to the waiting room for their consultation with the Specialist.

    If you require pupil dilation then eye drops will be instilled and this can take anywhere between 10-30 minutes to have effect.

    Consultation

    Your specialist will take a thorough history and perform an examination. Some things may be covered twice to ensure we can deliver the best tailored plan for you.

    A management plan will then be discussed and implemented depending on your situation and preferences.


  • VisionCare takes pride in our patient centric focus to eye care, and acknowledge our individualised and detailed approach takes time.

    Because of this, we ask patients to please allow up to 3 hours for your appointment.

  • Our consultation fee is required to be paid on the day of your appointment, along with additional fees incurred due to individualised tests or treatments

    Lodgement to Medicare for patient rebates are processed the (same) day of appointment.

    VisionCare accepts cash, credit card, (Visa or Mastercard) and EFTPOS.
