Cataract Surgery

Our Story
Originally established as Horsley Eye Clinic, our practice has proudly served the Fairfield community for over 30 years, continuing the legacy of Dr Chris Brown.
Founded in 1993, the clinic began in a converted weatherboard home on Wrentmore Street, Fairfield. Over the past three decades, it has grown alongside the community, evolving into the modern, purpose-built clinic located on Ware Street in the heart of Fairfield, conveniently within walking distance of Fairfield Train Station.
Today, the practice enters an exciting new chapter as VisionCare Eye Specialists, led by Dr Sebastian Brown, who has taken over from his father, Dr Chris Brown. While embracing a new name and a modern vision, the practice remains committed to the same values that have underpinned its reputation for more than three decades—compassionate care, clinical excellence, and a commitment to the local community.
A key part of this transformation has been the dedication and expertise of Edwina Cheer, our Practice Manager. Working alongside Dr Sebastian Brown, Edwina has played an instrumental role in shaping VisionCare Eye Specialists into the modern practice it is today. She has overseen the development of our practice systems and operations, including the creation of our website, implementation of comprehensive human resources programs, development of practice policies and procedures, and establishment of the operational framework that supports the delivery of exceptional patient care. Her commitment to excellence behind the scenes ensures that every aspect of the patient experience reflects the high standards of the practice.
Together, Dr Sebastian Brown and Edwina Cheer share a vision of creating a world-class ophthalmology clinic equipped with the latest diagnostic and surgical technology.
